Benefits of Therapeutic Massage
Massage therapy offers far more than relaxation. When performed by a licensed therapist as part of a structured care plan, it delivers measurable, clinical benefits:
- Pain Relief — Reduces chronic and acute pain by releasing muscle tension, improving circulation, and interrupting the pain-spasm cycle
- Faster Injury Recovery — Increases blood flow to injured tissues, reduces scar tissue formation, and speeds healing at the cellular level
- Stress & Anxiety Reduction — Activates the parasympathetic nervous system, lowering cortisol levels and promoting a sustained sense of calm
- Improved Range of Motion — Loosens tight muscles and fascia to restore flexibility and joint mobility
- Better Sleep — Reduces tension and promotes relaxation hormones that improve sleep quality
- Immune System Support — Stimulates lymphatic circulation, enhancing the body’s natural defenses
- Reduced Inflammation — Particularly effective when combined with our laser therapy, for chronic inflammatory conditions
- Postural Improvement — Releases the muscular imbalances that contribute to poor posture and spinal misalignment

How Massage Complements Chiropractic Care
Most chiropractic adjustments work best when the surrounding muscles are relaxed and receptive. Tight, guarded muscles can resist spinal correction — which is exactly why we integrate massage therapy directly into our chiropractic treatment plans.
When you receive massage before or alongside a chiropractic adjustment, several things happen:
- Muscles release — Soft tissue tension decreases, allowing the spine to adjust more easily and hold alignment longer
- Circulation improves — Blood flow increases to the treated area, accelerating tissue repair
- Nerve sensitivity decreases — Massage calms overactive pain pathways, making treatment more comfortable
- Results last longer — Adjustments hold better when supported by balanced soft tissue
This is why patients who combine massage with chiropractic care at Adapt Health consistently report faster results and longer-lasting relief compared to chiropractic alone.

What to Expect at Your First Session
New to massage therapy? Here’s what your first visit at Adapt Health Clinic looks like:
Before Your Session:
We'll take a brief health history — asking about any pain areas, injuries, medications, or conditions that might affect your treatment. This helps your therapist customize your session safely and effectively.
During Your Session:
Your therapist will explain their approach, check in on pressure preferences, and adjust technique based on your feedback throughout. Sessions are typically 60 or 90 minutes, performed in a private, comfortable treatment room.
After Your Session:
You'll likely feel a combination of deep relaxation and mild muscle soreness — especially after deep tissue or sports massage. We recommend drinking plenty of water afterward to support recovery.
Pricing & Scheduling:
We provide detailed superbills for out-of-network insurance reimbursement — many patients receive 50-80% coverage. Pricing is shared transparently during booking.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a massage session cost?
What is the difference between deep tissue and Swedish massage?
Swedish massage uses long, flowing strokes at light-to-medium pressure to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and ease general muscle tension. It’s an excellent choice for stress relief, first-time clients, or overall wellness maintenance. Deep tissue massage, on the other hand, uses slower, more concentrated pressure to reach the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It’s designed to break up adhesions, release chronic tension, and address specific pain areas. If you’re dealing with persistent pain or muscle tightness, deep tissue is typically the better fit. If relaxation and recovery are the priority, Swedish is ideal. Our therapists will help you decide during your intake consultation.
